FrostWire is an entirely free, open source BitTorrent client that has been around since 2004 when it was first released as a branch of LimeWire. The earlier versions of FrostWire used the Gnutella network as it was the most popular P2P file sharing network at the time. However, with the release of the latest version, FrostWire made the decision to focus only on the BitTorrent client and dropped Gnutella altogether.

FrostWire has made great strides and has added a lot of new and exciting features such as the ability to upload extremely large files, iTunes compatibility, user friendly chat rooms, much faster download speeds and a number of others. FrostWire ranks just below uTorrent as being the most popular BitTorrent client in the world currently.

FrostWire guarantees that their software is completely free of adware or spyware and the latest version has added even higher security measures, making the program even safer than it was before. In addition, bugs which were once reported in early releases of FrostWire have been fixed.

There are several new search options that have been added to FrostWire such as narrowing your search to torrents, images, songs, albums, games, movies, documents and many other file types.

One of the most improved features is the ability to send whatever you download to a friend just by right clicking over the file name once it has completed downloading.  In fact, you can create a cloud of friends in order to send and receive files from each other even faster.
